Star Wars: the Old Republic, Fragile Hope
Illusionist, Grandmaster of the Je'daii Order
Founder of the Illusionists and Grandmaster of the Je’daii Order. Von has come very far very quickly. They say the brightest flame burns out fastest. How will Von sustain?
Von to Veradun: “Now is the time when you become a master. This is your moment.”
Von surprised even himself with his foresight as Veradun was introduced as the Emperor of the Sith Empire. Could the Grandmaster of the Jed’aii Order be the power behind the throne of the Sith?
It has been a long time coming but finally I saw my first action as a Jedi Knight. I was assigned a continent of other young Jedi Knights in a mission to investigate the shipment stoppages from Incom Company. We quickly discovered foul play by the Sith and incompetence from our own government.
I was able to acquit myself well in combat and received further instruction when back on Coruscant to protect the Chancellor. The leadership did not foresee the Sith invasion despite by my protests and that of others that the treaty conference was clearly a trap. We were able to initially escape with the Chancellor but the sheet number of Sith lead to his death.
We eventually made our way off of Coruscant for a meeting of remaining Jedi. I cannot believe so many would allow themselves to be monitored. This weak division of Jedi is best left to history. This is clearly the time of the New Jedi Order. A time of strength and decisiveness…
Von Almari was identified at an early age for his powerful connection to The Force. Von’s father initially resisted the urge to contact the Jedi Order for fear that his son would never take over the family business: politics. Eventually Von’s connection to The Force caused enough problems that his father relented and contacted a Jedi who was visiting Falleen at the time, Master Shinock, a male Zabrak and Jedi Sentinel.
Master Shinock decided to personally train the young Von Almari and guided him for many years as a Padawan. Von received high marks throughout his training but was reprimanded for a few “incidents” where he used his pheromones to make the most of his “leave”. This earned young Von something of a reputation and notoriety of womanizing.
Von excelled with his Alter powers and was tutored as a Jedi Consular. Not noted for his proficiency for a lightsaber, Von is nonetheless considered a fast-track prospect to Jedi Master.
The sleek symmetry of their features, calculating and cold demeanors, their exotic looks, and their ability to alter their skin pigmentation meant that the Falleen were often considered to be among the most aesthetically pleasing beings in the galaxy. In addition to their strikingly beautiful appearance, the Falleen exuded pheromones which made them all but irresistible to both sexes, as evidenced when Quinlan Vos fell under the influence of a male Falleen’s pheromones. They had small scales all over their bodies, as well as slightly clawed fingers and toes. In addition, the Falleen displayed prominent facial and spinal ridges, though females tended to have slighter, more subtle growths.
The Falleen were semi-aquatic, and were able to hold their breath underwater for a long period of time, leading exobiologists to believe that the Falleen’s ancestors were completely aquatic.
As a cold-blooded species, the Falleen respected discipline and control, particularly self-control. They tended to shun public displays of emotion, and were very patient. As a result of this attitude, they tended to look down on the more openly passionate, whom they saw as lacking self-control. Indeed, the Falleen as a species had a towering sense of superiority which they felt was only right and proper due to their discipline and rigid self-control. They also tended to view Falleen, and not Coruscant as the civilized and cultural capital of the galaxy. This arrogance made the Falleen something of an isolationist species, and though they were not a rare species, it was rare to find them away from their homeworld.
